The Memorandum of Cooperation states that the two sides prioritized cooperation in renewing methods and diversifying trade promotion activities for businesses and rubber products. In particular, strengthening the ability of rubber industry firms to construct and develop brands by utilizing the certification mark “Vietnam Rubber – Viet Nam Rubber” both domestically and internationally. At the same time, promoting the application of information technology and digital transformation for the Vietnam Rubber Association and the industry’s enterprises to meet the trend of trade promotion in the digital environment and multi-channel trade promotion.

Mr. Tran Ngoc Thuan, Chairman of the Vietnam Rubber Association, said that the certification mark “Vietnam Rubber / Vietnam Rubber” has been protected by the National Office of Intellectual Property since 2014 and announced for use in 2016. In addition, this trademark has been registered for protection in key markets: Taiwan (China), India, Laos, China and Cambodia. Up to now, 82 products of 29 factories belonging to 17 enterprises have been granted the right to use this mark and have been recognized/recognized in domestic and foreign markets.

According to the Vietnam Rubber Association, currently, Vietnam is the 5th country in the world in terms of rubber plantation area, but ranked 3rd in the world in terms of export rubber output thanks to the world’s leading productivity. However, the selling price of Vietnam’s rubber is lower than that of other countries in the region due to the unreliability of customers and the stability of the quality and reputation of the business. Therefore, raising the brand name of Vietnam’s rubber industry is very important.

Vietnam within the framework of the national trade promotion program, increasing the awareness of importers as well as end users about products bearing the “Vietnamese Rubber/Vietnam Rubber” brand.

Mr. Vu Ba Phu also recommended that rubber businesses need to actively adapt to the trend of green consumption, green growth and green economy of the world to avoid being passive in the coming time.
